Cheetahwhisker and Darkpaw WIP

WIP for another part of 's contest. It is of SliverGold's OC cheetahwhisker and my OC darkpaw(later darkstream). I kind of imagined a scenario to go with it as I was drawing it so yesh Cheetahwhisker and Darkpaw would be at a gathering. They would be from different clans that had just had a battle. Cheetahwhiskers clan had suspected Darkpaw's clan of stealing prey. Cheetahwhisker's leader had also demanded that his warriors not speak to the warriors of Darkpaw's clan unless they admitted to stealing prey. It would also be Darkpaw's first gathering as an apprentice...

The night was cold and wet. Bareleaf had just begun and it was once again time for a gathering. Only two clans had arrived so far and the hollow was filled with tension and distrust. Darkpaw wandered around the gathering hollow on her own. It was quiet for having so many cats in the same place. She wondered if it were always this quiet. She had found her mentor earlier but he was busy getting news from another tom and hadn't included her. She had tried unsuccessfully to talk to several other warriors. None gave her anything more than a rude look. The other apprentices were no better.

Continuing to look for another solo cat she spotted a large tom the color of dried bracken. He was sitting near the base of a large tree.

Darkpaw trotted up to him, trying to look friendly. "Hey what's your name?" she asked the tom. The cat regarded her the way one would look at a bur stuck in their fur. Giving his fur a shake, he got up to leave. Darkpaw leapt to her feet and darted after him. "Wait a minute, I wasn't asking anything personal."

The tom shrugged his shoulders and kept walking. Darkpaw jumped in front of him "Are all warriors this rude? If so, I think I'd rather stay an apprentice." "My name is Cheetahwhisker, now please leave me alone." The tom hissed quickly. He shouldered his way past her and went to sit with a silver she-cat from his own clan.

Darkpaw glared after him. "So much for amazing first gathering" she mewed just to herself.
